Levi Stubbs was one of the greatest vocalists of all time. Unlike other acts, Motown did not invent the Four Tops -- they came to the label fully formed as a group. But, the genius of Berry Gordy & Smokey Robinson is that in choosing artists for the roster, they chose individuals who were enormously talented, but also unique in their sounds. Today, 60+ years after Motown hit its stride & suddenly became the most successful record label in the country, the voices they selected & nurtured are still beloved & still unique. When you hear David Ruffin, Diana Ross, Levi Stubbs, Marvin Gaye, Martha Reeves, Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson, Mary Wells, Eddie Kendricks, Lionel Richie, Gladys Knight, etc., and Mr. Robinson himself, you know who they are & there are no others who sound like them. Levi Stubbs was, once & always a Four Tops member. But, when he did projects that spotlighted him outside the group -- this song, his Christmas duet with Aretha Franklin, the film "Little Shop of Horrors," etc., his talent showed clearly that there was no challenge he could not meet. But, he didn't just meet them. With each, he achieved a new triumph. I love everything he ever did, but for me, this song is his masterpiece. Like others who posted comments, I seldom listen to it without shedding a tear or two. He could rock n roll. He had more soul than anyone you ever heard. But, he also had the ability to touch the heart of anyone who heard him. He is greatly missed, but we are fortunate to have his recordings that will live & inspire forever!
Such a beautiful and meaningful song!

C.I.A. HEAD, WILLIAM CASEY, 1981 to 1987: "We'll know our DISINFORMATION program is complete... When EVERYTHING the AMERICAN PEOPLE BELIEVE, IS FALSE..."! [CASE CLOSED!!!]😮😢😅😂🎉
We used this tune to walk out of the chapel at my mum's funeral. Dad had passed years before and my folks were terrific dancers to the Big Bands. We thought this would be a great 'statement' tune - Dad being Canadian and all. I can still 'see' mum and dad dancing out the door in front of us. Sappy, but it was great. Love you mum and dad. Miss you everyday. Love this tune.
I might go to Canada next month for vacation and this tune came to my mine! My favorite version of "Canadian Sunset"!
1:31 celestial sound
When I heard this at 10yrs old, in 1956, I thought it was so beautiful.
Oscar is so fluid, just saw him perform last week with Terrance Blanchard. Absolutely amazing!!!
Obrigado Gismonti!
This song is superb. I don't know why there are so many videos of this song out there that have their comments turned off. Thanks.
Musico brasileiro fenomenal ....Gismonte se equivale ao argentino Astor Piazzolla. Que Deus o mantenha conosco por muito tempo.
Jerry, just the best!!
BEAUTIFUL
